The Saul’s Creek trail system is in the San Juan National Forest about 3 miles east of Bayfield, Colorado, made up of gas roads and double track. You may encounter motorcycles or horses.

Main Trailhead (Road 755A)

To main trailhead:

To get to the Saul’s Creek trailhead, drive east on Highway 160 from Bayfield. Turn right on CR 526 (with the sign “National Forest Access, Saul’s Creek). Take the first left on CR 527 and the signed trailhead is about 1 mile down the road.

Excellent flowing trails. Even better gravel roads. At the trailhead you don’t have to peddle the steep uphill. There is a much easier trail just to the right. Much like Boggy Draw except 30 minutes from Durango rather than one hour.
