Cutthroat Trail Maintenance | Saturday, September 25th

Where to Meet: Park at Sig Creek Trailhead at upper Hermosa Creek. From Durango, head 39 miles north on Highway 550. Turn into Purgatory Ski Resort and follow Hermosa Park Rd, Forest Rd 578, 6 miles west. It is accessible by 2WD vehicles. Look for the Durango Trails Truck parked off the Hermosa Park Road. | Click here for a map.

What to wear: Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes or boots, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, sunhat, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle, and a rain jacket (optional).

Upper Colorado Trail Maintenance | Saturday, June 26

June 26, 2021 @ 7:30 am 6:00 pm

Join us for trailwork on the Upper Colorado Trail from Champion Venture to Walls Gulch Bridge where we will do tread and drainage work on this 4.5 mile section of trail.

We are seeking avid mountain bikers to participate. The shuttle will depart from town at 7:30am on Saturday and return around 6pm Saturday night. If you prefer to hike in, you will need to plan to drive your own car up Junction Creek Road (approximately 90 minutes on rough terrain). (Please indicate in the “Anything else you’d like us to know” field in the registration form if you will be bringing a bike or riding the shuttle in & out).

The shuttle cap is at 14 people, so we will accept the first 14 people who register. You will receive a confirmation email on Wednesday, June 23rd, if your registration has been accepted.

Breakfast burritos and lunch (sandwiches) will be provided. No kids under 16 or dogs, please.

Upper Colorado Trail Maintenance from Champion Venture to Walls Gulch Bridge

When: Saturday, June 26, 2021 | 7:30 am – 6:00pm

Where to Meet: Shuttle will depart from the Durango Rec Center at 7:30am on Saturday and return around 6pm Saturday night. You can also bring a mountain bike and ride out after trailwork (please indicate in the “Anything else you’d like us to know” field if you will be bringing a bike or riding the shuttle in & out).

What to wear: Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes or boots, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, sunhat, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle, and a rain jacket (optional).

Durango Trails will provide all tools, gloves, instruction and safety talk, extra water and snacks for our volunteers. Breakfast burritos and lunch (sandwiches) will be provided.

We do live in beautiful, unpredictable Colorado, so please check the weather before your workday and plan to dress accordingly.
