Log Chutes Trail Maintenance

When: Wednesday, July 27th| 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm (please be on time)

Where to Meet: The Log Chutes trailhead is located four miles past the Junction Creek Trailhead of the Colorado Trail. From Main Avenue (heading north) in Durango, take a left at 25th Street. The street turns into Junction Creek Road; continue west where you will see a sign for the Colorado Trail trailhead. Continue up the road four miles. The Log Chutes trailhead will be on your right. | Click here for a map.

What to wear: Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes or boots, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, sunhat, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle, and a rain jacket (optional).

We do live in beautiful, unpredictable Colorado, so please check the weather before your workday and plan to dress accordingly. Engineer Mountain Trail Maintenance

When: Wednesday, July 13th| 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm (please be on time)

Where to Meet: 31 miles north of Durango on U.S. 550 at Engineer Mtn. Guard Station. To reach the station, 2/3 of a mile past Cascade Village, turn west on FDR #817 and follow this road 100 yards. The trailhead is on the north side of the road just past the cattle guard. There is adequate parking along the dirt road. Durango Trails will have a trail sign out by Hwy 550. The turn comes up quickly around the bend from the CDOT equipment, so be ready to turn left. Look for the Durango Trails Truck. Please consider carpooling! | Click here for a map.

New Trail on Animas Mountain

When: Saturday, June 4 | 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (please be on time)

Where to Meet: Animas Mountain Trailhead, be prepared to hike 20-30 minutes to the worksite. Click Here for a map.

From North Main Street, take a left on 32nd Street and then a right on West 4th Avenue, where you will see the parking lot / trailhead for Animas Mountain a short ways up.
