Bid Today on Artwork Auction for Trails 2000 & Community Foundation

Support Community. Build Trails. BID Today.

Trails 2000 and the Community Foundation are excited to host an online auction for the exquisite painting, “Garden of Secrets,” mixed media on canvas by artist Shelbee Mares (pictured above). The piece is on display at the Rochester Hotel during the duration of the Community Foundation’s summer concert series in the Rochester’s Secret Garden (Wednesdays, June 25-August 29). Funds from the online auction will go directly to Trails 2000 for the planning, building and maintaining of Durango’s trail network, and the Community Foundation which aims to make Southwest Colorado a better place to live through increasing efficiency, sustainability, and success for nonprofits.

New Mexico Artist Shelbee Mares focuses on distinctive mixed media painting, using mixed mediums and various glazing techniques to create work that inspires one to look beyond what is seen—to capture not only form but the essence behind the simple narrative. She was honored with the “People’s Choice Award” (1997),  official “Spring Arts Poster Artist” (2002), and “Second Place” in the “Toast of Taos” competition (2008).

The piece is framed and measures at 75″ x 63”. It is professionally valued at $13,950. From Sorrell Sky Gallery, Durango, CO. Access the auction here.
