TrailKids Program

TRAILKIDS

Inspiring curiosity, stewardship, and an appreciation for natural lands in OUR area youth

TrailKids is a fully sponsored youth educational program provided by local nonprofit, Durango Trails. The program is designed to inspire curiosity, stewardship, and an appreciation for natural lands in area youth through outdoor, hands-on science education and trailwork.

Focused on Durango-area middle school students, TrailKids offers a variety of one hour, half-day, and full day programs for 6th-8th grade science classes in partnership with Durango School District 9-R. Each course is tailored to Colorado Academic standards and focuses on Durango’s unique ecosystems and geology to better understand the importance of trails. TrailKids operates in conjunction with Durango School District 9-R Middle School science teachers.

Before you head out...

Please consider giving to Durango Trails!

The trails you’re about to enjoy wouldn’t exist without our year-round work to plan, build, and maintain them.

And we wouldn’t exist without your support!

Please consider financially contributing to help us continue to build and maintain great trails.

Great communities build great trails and great trails build great communities.
