Part of the Boggy Draw Trail System.

McPhee Overlook is a moderate 8.8-mile trail on the western side of the Boggy Draw trail system. This trail is point-to-point and is accessed from the southern end of Dolores, across from Joe Rowell Park; the northern end of the trail meets with Bean Canyon Loop.

McPhee Overlook trail parallels the edge of McPhee Reservoir and offers scenic views of the reservoir and surrounding area.

Much of the Boggy Draw trail system was built by linking together cow paths created by the cattle that graze here every summer. Eventually, the Mavericks Loop trail was added along with the Bean Canyon Loop and Italian Canyon Loop.
