Part of the Dalla Mountain Park trail system.

Ponderosa Trail is a 0.6-mile trail that connects between Animas Mountain and the bouldering areas of Dalla Mountain Park. Dalla Mountain Park is a popular destination among climbers, hikers and mountain bikers alike. The area, densely forested and populated by an incredible number of sandstone boulders, some the size of buildings, is well signed.

Jacob’s Cliff Parking Area

From 9th Street and Main Avenue in Durango, head west on 9th Street toward Camino Del Rio (Highway 550). Turn right onto Highway 550 north then take a left on 25th Street. Follow 25th Street (becomes Junction Creek Road) for 0.8 miles where a dirt parking area for Dalla Mountain Park/Jacob’s Cliff is on your right.
