Part of the Overend Mountain Park trails system.

A popular trail in Overend Mountain Park, Hidden Valley offers a winding and shaded hike or bike ride. Starting at the Hidden Valley cul-de-sac, head up Hidden Valley, turn right at the top where you’ll arrive at the top of Star Wars descent; keep your eyes and ears open and at the bottom, slowly turn left to Perins Gulch, head right and up 8 Bells and north over to Hogsbottom, around to the Spirit Trail where you’ll come out at Elle Vita and head to the Animas River Trail or head back on Elle Vita, up and over to Brown’s ridge, down 8 Bells, Perins Gulch and back to Hidden Valley.

dIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD

Parking at Hidden Valley

From 9th Street and Main Avenue in Durango, head west on 9th Street toward Camino Del Rio. Turn right onto Camino Del Rio (Highway 550/ N. Main Avenue) Continue on North Main Avenue/Camino Del Rio; take a left onto West. 22nd Street. Take a right on West 3rd and a quick left onto West 23rd Street (becomes Columbine Drive). Take a left onto Arroyo Drive and a left onto Hidden Valley Circle where you will find a place to park at the top of the dead-end near the trailhead.
